yoga in morning

One of the best ways of practicing Yoga is going for ten minutes in the morning which will tune your mind for the stressful day ahead, and one set at the sunset, to make you relax. This article will teach you two 10-minute sets. The first one can be practiced in the morning and the second one in the evening. You can even choose to practice both or start with just one.

Yoga Set for the Morning

Pranayam – waking you up. Time Suggested – 3 minutes

A simple Pranayam can bring energy from the laziness of the morning. It is an energy control technique through specific breathing patterns. Pranayam also reduces the internal noises of your thoughts and helps you focus more on your core activities. Pranayam comprises inhaling completely in 4 short times while exhaling in 1 long time.

Surya Namaskar – Sun Salutations. Time Suggested – 3 minutes

Surya Namaskar is one of the most known exercise sequences all over the world. It is known for the excellent stretching it brings to the body. Sun Salutation is a sequence that helps absorb the energy from the Sun, air, and food more efficiently.

According to your capability, you can repeat it from 8 to 15 times in a sequence. However, there are a lot of variations of Surya Namaskar in other forms of Yoga.

Yoga Set for the Evening

Alternate Nostril Breathing – Time Suggested – 3 minutes

This is a form of therapeutic pranayama, and can bring you depth in your peace of mind. During this form of Yoga, sit comfortably and close one nostril with your thumb, one on the same side of the hand you are using. Now inhale through the free nostril, and while exhaling, change to the opposite side of the nostril, blocking it with the index or little finger. Now change the position and repeat with the other nostril.

It is an easy and wonderful exercise and helps de-stress you before going to sleep. You can also consider using some background relaxing music that may improve your inner focus and make you calmer during breathing practices.

You need to repeat the procedure at least 4 to 5 times with 10 seconds each.

Stretching Asanas

Properly stretching your body is important, as it releases tension from our muscles and also impacts our nervous system, thus making us easier to go for a night of deep sleep. Some of the most common Asanas that are good for stretching include:

  1. Cat Cow Pose – Bitilasana
  2. Bridge Pose – Setu Bandha Sarvangasana
  3. Camel Pose – Ustrasana
  4. Cobra Pose – Bhujangasana
  5. Boat Pose – Navasana
  6. Dog – Adho Mukhwa Svanasana

The above list is sequenced with the simplest (1 and 2) to the hardest (5 and 6) to help you maintain flexibility and balance. Yoga experts recommend selecting one of each pair (3 in total) for your set and spending one minute on each asana. Alternatively, you can take the help of a Yoga expert from Patanjali Yogpeeth USA, which is one of the top and best Yoga and Ayurvedic Treatment wellness center in the world.

Balasana – Child’s Pose

Once you have finished the above set of exercises, kneel and sit on your knees. Let your forefront relay on the Yoga mat. Make your arms gently stretched on both sides, keeping them parallel to the body. The sole purpose of this pose is to let your mind leave all tensions and let your body reconnect with Mother Earth. Under this pose you send your vital energy and nutrients to the head so that your brain works in a better condition and maintains harmony with your body to blossom your life.

Rejuvenate and Reap the Benefits of Yoga

Undergoing regular Yoga disciplines will surely help boost your mood. This is a low form of exercise and has shown results of lowering stress hormones in our bodies and simultaneously increases brain chemicals like endorphins and GABA, which are beneficial in keeping anxiety levels at the minimum while improving our mood.
